Qavi Khan was an iconic Pakistani film, television, and stage actor who left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry of Pakistan. He was born in Peshawar and belonged to the Yousefzai Pashtun tribe.
Qavi began his acting career in Radio Pakistan in Peshawar as a child actor. He went on to work for Pakistan Television Corporation in the early days of television broadcasting in Lahore.
Qavi Khan was one of the first actors on PTV. His career in film started in 1965 with over 200 films to his credit. He became famous for the PTV drama serial Andhera Ujala. He received the Pride of Performance Award in 1980 and the Sitara-e-Imtiaz Award in 2012.
